They still are but the returning numbers are low so fishing for them is discouraged. You can still do it but it's not well respected by other fishermen

I have purchased two of these staffs over the last few years... one for myself and one for a friend. I had two other name brand ones break on me, one of which could have ended up killing me. These are Rock solid and he is a great guy. If you're thinking about it do not hesitate.
