What is your balanced leech/bobber leader setup?

I’ve really simplified my leader build. I just don’t build them anymore. I normally just run straight 3x the whole way. This is mostly because I suck at casting indicator rigs and makes it simple to re-rig when I get tangled (which is often😁). Google Phil Rowley’s level leader concept, if you...

    4wt. SW WA Slam

I accomplished the slam after work this evening😂. Under the eyes of the local volcanoes. White Crappie- Black Crappie- Bluegill- LMB- And the fish of the day. Perch- You SW WA people should take advantage of this fishery. It’s really good right now. I’d rate it a Silver status😁.

    Quick trip to the lake.

It is. We should plan a trip there some time. I’ll leave the dog at home.

    Quick trip to the lake.

Yes. All my dogs have been good partners in the boat. I think the key is starting them young. They all get the float/dunk test before the life jacket comes off for good (in lakes).

    Quick trip to the lake.

Following this path lead me to some fun fishing. Lilly pad patches provided the most action. I’m pretty sure this Crappie has never been licked by a dog before. The big fish of the day was caught on a small jig bait fish pattern.

    Merrill Lake update

This was from DNR- "The culvert has to be manufactured and concrete footing designed and built. This is all moving forward, but at this point a definitive start isn’t totally clear. There could be some materials hauled on site in June to prep for construction, specifically rock. The schedule...

    Two Fly Question

You should add a number 4 option- -4. I start with 2 flies, they get tangled multiple times, I finally get frustrated enough and just go back to using 1 fly. 😂

    A Hidden Gem

It’s always good to hear there are still hidden gems out there. There’s a lake in my area that’s well off the beaten path. It is supposed to have large trout. I’m on the fence on whether to put the effort into checking it out. I kind of like the idea there are hidden gems with large fish out...

    NFR RIP Capt Insano Emeritis

Sorry to hear this. His painting (Deluge) of one my favorite lakes is the first thing you see when you enter my house.
