My $25 XP looks and feels better every year. ;)

He constantly makes it a point to get fish on the reel whenever possible/needed, there is no need to put a 12” trout on the reel. And he can easily cast to the backing without tailing loops, I’d say he casts very well. If he hotspots in his videos you guys get mad, and if he doesn’t, you do it...

I could be wrong, but I’ve never seen him use a rod vault, he always assembles his rods. And the only two reel seats I’ve seen fail on his channel were the two R8’s, a rod known to have this issue. From the looks of it Sage isn’t, or wasn’t, putting enough adhesive there.

I believe his new 3wt is an R8. Both his and his sons R8’s had the reel seat fall apart.

Thanks guys. I may just save up for the watermaster or go used. Every time I settle for a cheaper option I always regret it, sell it, and buy what I want eventually anyway. :ROFLMAO:

I noticed the oars on the Maxxon are held up what looks to be about 5” from the mount. This looks like it will create a lot of torque/twisting compared to the watermaster which looks like the oars are less than 2” from the surface of the raft. Seems like a failure point.

Anyone have any experience with the Maxxon widgeon raft? I’ve been wanting a watermaster raft for fishing the Yakima River, but the almost $2000 is pretty steep. I saw the Maxxon at the local sportsmans show for $699 and it looked/felt pretty durable and well made, but I can’t help but feel that...
