    Mid July Central Oregon

In July, the weather may decide for you. The Metolius is a spring fed stream that stays cold year round. The Deschutes is used for irrigation above LBC and is a tail water below. Water temps can become an issue in summer, depending on how hot it gets and how dry the rest of this spring ends up...

    Detecting the take (euro nymphing)

If I had to pick one piece of advice from this whole thread, it’s the first sentence here!

    Fishing this weekend

Just a heads up that most systems down that way are either blown out or will be by then with the weather we’ve been having. Middle Fork is already higher than ideal and on the rise. McKenzie is really a boat fishery, especially in high water. Your best bet will be to head east for the Deschutes.

    NFR Hockey 23/24 Season

Really should have been Dallas, Edmonton just doesn’t have the depth to make this an interesting series.

What’s your go to, bushy attractor dry fly?

Another vote here for the stimulator, orange or yellow. My favorite thing about this fly is that they’ll eat it dead drifted, skated or drowned and stripped like a streamer. Brook trout especially enjoy that fly fished a streamer. It works great all summer, and then in October it’s truly lights...

    NFR Hockey 23/24 Season

I’ve always like Bylsma, he’s smart and cerebral and has a winning track record. Good fit for a team that’s adding some really interesting pieces, and will undoubtedly add another in this year’s draft. I like that Seattle has had to take a slightly more traditional expansion path, unlike...

    NFR Hockey 23/24 Season

With Colorado eliminated, none of the remaining teams in this year’s playoffs has won a Stanley Cup this century. Dallas is the most recent champ, and they won in 1999. So we’ll have a “fresh” champion for the first time in a while. I don’t count Vegas, for obvious reasons.

    Harriet Lake road access

I have to apologize for the lousy info, but apparently the short route to Harriet is not officially open. Some dingus clipped the lock and opened the gate but the area is still closed and hazardous. Long way around it is, for now. Sorry!!

    NFR Hockey 23/24 Season

The smelling salts thing has gotten hilariously out of hand, guys just jamming them into their eyeballs between plays 😂. And agreed, I want to see Pavs get his cup.

    NFR Hockey 23/24 Season

Coke and hockey players have a long history, which has always struck me as weird. I wouldn’t play well if I didn’t eat my pregame sandwich at the exact right time and other guys are like no worries I’ll just rail a couple lines and win the Stanley Cup.

    Harriet Lake road access

The short route to Harriet is back open. Not 57, but the gravel road next to the Ripplebrook store. Watched two bankies (adult men) get into a fist fight that ended in gunshots. I’m sure this display and the opening of the Estacada route are totally coincidental…

Toronto? Win a cup? Aren’t those are mutually exclusive concepts?? 🤓
