Did a super short session before work today. 1.5 hours. Sporadic fish being caught and the water shit the bed around low slack so decided to just go to work. 1-1 overall. Average rezzie sized fish.

I think we need to collectively buy one and force any new person coming out on PNWFF driven trips, to catch their first albacore on it. Then pass it on to the next newbie. Way funnier and less chance for vomit than eating the raw heart of their first tuna.

Another thing I’ll say is seeing someone try to land their first ever Albacore using a click and paw reel was about as good a laugh as I have ever had on a tuna boat. She was a trooper though and got it done. Pretty damn funny though.

It was a really fun day. We all lost a bunch of fish too. Trolling, slide and cast and stripped flies were all effective. Another great thing about Nick’s new boat besides casting space is the ability to easily fight fish along the whole length of the boat. It gives folks more room to spread out...

2-3 this morning. One good fish and one rezzie sized fish. Time for a little salmon break until next weekend. Tuna time… The smaller fish had a little perch (?) of some kind in its stomach.

That seal definitely has an affinity for @SteelHeadDave. I may have jinxed him by telling him he was brave hanging that coho off his belt yesterday :). 0-0 yesterday and 1-2 before work for me today. One right before daybreak and another hookup 10 minutes before I had to leave.

Another long day out there. 3-5 over multiple beaches. At least I got two fish for the freezer today…

Another day grinding it out. Took three beaches and nearly another full day to get a single keeper. Potentially could have been quicker if I could keep a fish pinned. Still only 4 hooked adult fish, with three again coming in the last hour or so I was fishing.
