Anyone here growing artichokes? We planted one last year as an afterthought after the growing season, so nothing to harvest. This year we have harvested at least 20 artichokes from the one plant. I grew up as a kid in California and our family had artichokes for dinner all the time, but I don't...

This guy popped up in our raspberry patch. Not sure if we planted it or it's some sort of volunteer, but it's almost ready to eat.

Nature's bounty

I've been waiting to buy waders. Hadn't seen Simms on sale before so now just hoping they fit.

just like a dog knows "want to go for a walk?"

I didn't find another thread about pets and things they do out of the ordinary, but if there is one apologies in advance. I grew up with dogs, but when I married the girl of my dreams, it was pretty obvious we were going to have cats as pets. At first I wasn't sure about cats, but after 48 years...

Olive oil with salt and pepper for pretty much every type of fish I grill. Lower heat, low and slow. I like to taste the flavor of the fish and not enhance it with lots of seasonings, with one exception. Grilled halibut with McCormick's lemon pepper seasoning just goes together (tip from a chef...

Didn't fish it as the water level and flow rate was too high.

My daughter's Frenchie. Dog likes to dig!

Yes thanks! I've had a great career working the same job for the last 41 years. Mixed feelings on retirement though. I like what I do, like going to work but I'm not getting any younger. I've wanted to fish for a long time and never felt I had the time. Funny I'm a financial guy and have...

I'm 72, in reasonable shape, and still agile so I plan on hiking in where necessary. A wading stick is a great idea, and if my iPhone can double as a satellite phone in an emergency I'm covered. As far as carrying, I'd rather have one and not need it than the reverse. Not for people so much as...

I'm retiring at the end of June and will have time finally to fish where/when I want. The challenge is most friends and people I know don't fish so I'm probably going solo for a lot of the time. How many here fish solo and what's your experience? Things I think I'll need include a sat phone for...

I'm fishing it tomorrow, wondering if anyone has been there in the past few days/ tia

Trying our best to eat healthy. What you can't see is the halibut underneath the veggies. Plus this seasoning is killer on halibut. Season the halibut, add veggies of choice, drizzle with olive oil, close up the aluminum foil and bake at 350 for about 25 minutes.

Alcohol and weed are a huge waste of time, from someone that knows. It's encouraging people are turning away.
