Nah I just catch and release, but one day I think I might do a bluegill fish fry! I haven’t kept any fish in a long time, back in my hook and worm days haha

I second the Cortland Bass line - the pond I mainly fish in is only 4' deep, so floating line is fine. I have an intermediate sink tip from moonlit fly fishing that I'll throw on if I'm fishing the deeper ponds around.

I always end up catching bluegill on my 7wt when I'm fishing for bass, and it's a lot of rod for a bluegill. Are you guys throwing poppers with a 5wt, and how do you deal with wind in that scenario, just cast into the wind? My 5wt (and 3wt) are glass.

Cell phones make it worse. People have always littered what they have to litter and they’ve always imposed themselves on wildlife. It’s why my state doesn’t have an elk or wolf population - those fuckers in the old timey days had no respect for it.

I bought that second one and it's coming in the mail now. I'm not visually impaired but damn do my hands shake all over the place.

This year will be my daughter's third year fishing (she's 12) and I've already told her she's hooking her own damn worm from now on :ROFLMAO: I've tried to get her to fly fish but she's already seen how successful it is to catch bluegill all day long with a worm.

It won't happen, but I would like to see native fish ONLY instead of stocked invasives (I'm in NE so Brookies for me).
