    Pontoon Inflator

Anyone who kite surfs or wing foils knows about rechargeable inflation pumps with a bunch of adaptors for different types of valves. If you need to inflate your pontoons every time you use the boat, if might be worthwhile looking into one. They run about $150.

    NFR Humor (No political jokes)

There has to be a really clever response lurking around this, but in truth I got nothing.

    New England tailwater report..

I grew up just outside Boston, and never knew there were any cold water streams outside of the White Mountains, and those rivers weren't (as far as I knew) known for holding fish. I had heard that there were some decent trout streams in CT, but didn't believe in fly fishing then. (In retrospect...

We made a weird map of the Lower Deschutes

Got any extras you'd like to sell?

We made a weird map of the Lower Deschutes

Add a yellow highlighter along the route and you have a river-going Triptik! I love the idea. Does it extend up to Warm Springs? I'd love to see something in this format along with (updated) info from the (now VERY old) Deschutes Guide Book. This would include river miles, GPS coordinates for...

    Stripping Basket Idea

Just an idea for those who like using one: I was in my local hardware store her in Hood River and saw cherry baskets on sale for about $20. I thought to myself: that looks a lot like a stripping basket without the fancy price!

Not to be too picky, but you're a professional only if you get paid for it... otherwise you're an amateur!

    SFR Cooler advice

Check out Engels. I saw one YouTube video in which they had a shootout of all the high-end super-insulated coolers, and it won over the Yeti. (Plus, it's cheaper than the Yeti!)

Taking Strangers Fishing, Yay or Nay?

You may never know you've chosen the right fishing partner, but you always know when you've chosen the wrong one. One of my nightmare scenarios is bringing someone out on a float and one of the first things they ask is: "So how long do you think we'll be out?" I fished with a work colleague...

    Learning to Row Rivers

I'm not following. How does that help moving toward and away from the bank without changing the heading or the speed relative to the current?

    Learning to Row Rivers

I've been floating for years, and the one thing I still can't quite figure out is how to maintain alignment with the current and match the current speed while moving either inshore and offshore. I've seen it done, but it's magic, as far as I'm concerned.

    Learning to Row Rivers

Will you be floating alone primarily? For me, that was the clincher. One cannot row and fish simultaneously. One can fish and drift, but at some point it's either hold the rod or hold the oars.. There is no way to multi-task that particular aspect. I realized that a raft will generally bounce...
