It’s a switch so I’m at 1 1/2 handed, so I’m an inbetweener. I like single handeds over Spey but when I get caring down this rod throws a daft long line with not a lot of effort.

After a blether with Stonedfish I'm considering going after salty summer salmon thru the summer doldrums. My 4 wt switch has a 320 grain floater (I think) but I was thinking a type 3 head would be better vs sticking a poly leader on to get my fly down and blast casts further. With nylon running...
And now JCM, Americana at it best and I’m not an American yet 😀 so much good music that can bring us all together. Jack and Diane, what’s not to like.

Black and blae is a super pattern, I used the pennel more just cause easier to tie with the materials I had to hand as a kid. Takes me back…thank you for a great report.

Tandoori chicken on the go, cleaned up the grill beforehand…will be redoing that tomorrow…next time I’ll do skin off as these sat in the fridge for 20 odd hrs to marinade and skin is kinda superfluous other than a flash point, still adds extra smoke I suppose.

If anyone has Ross CLA2 or spools lying around I’m happy to help you out In thinning the herd.
My mental inventory of reels is at 20 odd but that means 30 odd if I looked everything over…

Here’s what I’ve got, the 4’s you want are here but there’s like 10 or so, there’s lots of the others but a diff style. Lmk what works for you and you can get them tomorrow.

I’ll have a look tonight Brian, don’t want to get your hopes up up but I have a feeling I got some yrs ago and don’t use them but they may be 6’s if that works in a pinch.

I use it on my 4wt Winston for dries on lakes, unlike a forward taper I can easily pull a long line and recast immediately to cover a fish. It an airflo and I love it.

A buddy got one on our ill fated salmon lake trip, still too traumatised by dogshit fishing to send a report. It was about 4lb he reckoned. Alike to fighting a big lump of clay. I got so wee ones that were spirited but by that time a minnow would have got me going.
