It's always fun to run the fields the week after a hunt trial. Chukar overload for the dogs.

BPS twinsies! My Dad bought this BPS back in the early 80s, as a left handed shooter, he appreciated not having shells flying past his face. Now I carry it around for all my bird hunting duties. Some days I do long for something a little less hefty, however.

Chasing ditch parrots in Roper's neck of the woods. Dad took me pheasant hunting and all I got was this lousy duck. A double point warrants a double pose. An unfortunate tug-of-war for the retrieve left the hun in less than desirable shape, unfortunately.

When you see them chilling on a utility pole outside your house they are easy to ID, but I find it's really easy to be unsure when they're zooming overhead at mach chicken while I'm out pheasant hunting. It's pretty rare that I'm sure enough which flavor I am seeing fly by to take a shot at them...

Something to consider: Keep an eye on FB marketplace or Craigslist for them. You can find screaming deals on lightly used kettles, people just assume they are outdated junk and that nobody would want to spend money on them. I spent $30 on my 22" basic kettle, and I don't think it had ever been...

Same as @Replicant's bird, it's a Gray/Hungarian Partridge, yes. It's been fun watching the dogs adapt to hunting wide open grass fields. They can catch the scent from a long ways away.
