Can't decide whether to hike the coast for steelhead, do a float with a thousand of my closest friends, or drive over the hill to the Deschutes.

It's a little far from Portland for a day trip. If I was heading that far, I'd probably just go to the Met.
 
I think it's better quality fish, if fewer, and fewer crowds camped in the good water. I really like the setting, too. None of that is to say the Crooked is bad, just that I prefer the Met.
 
Tied up this weekend with ski lessons for the kids sat and family stuff Sunday. Hoping to sneak out Monday or Tuesday.
 
Just don't low-hole me if you head my direction, Phil. I promise I'll have a net with me this time...;)
 
I'll be spending this weekend gathering up all my camping gear after a 3 month break so I can head north on Wednesday for a long weekend flailing low and clear water but doing so in one of the most spectacular places on earth. No dog for the first time ever so I might even wander into the park. No matter what the fireside beers will be just what this guy needs. I'm just so glad the Rams made it so I don't feel like I have to watch TV on Sunday.

I'll be there at least one day this weekend. Want some company?
 
Kinda?? The herring came in to spawn in Crescent City, CA. So I’m gonna take the daughter and get some of those with a throw net and a sabiki rig. I also catch them on a 3 wt which is actually pretty fun
