Long, long ago on a website far, far away, there was a discussion of the wonders and horrors of booby flies and mop flies. This was my response then...and I fished this thing everywhere until I lost it, and nothing would eat it.

The bead head pearl flash zonker on the left was tied from the orvis kit and just hasn't done much for me. One of the things I did today was dress a few up with soft grizzly hackle before I give up on them.

I was going to post a picture of my steelhead box, and my muskie box, when I realized the common denominator is me. Now I’m wondering if it’s too early to start drinking.
Well, if you had a competent ghillie, then you'd have one thing in your steelhead box that works. Tough to find good help these days...

Dry flies are not working in a popular central Washington Cascades lake that used to have a consistent two hour hatch each year in July and early August. This summer, there were very few weeds growing in the lake and few hatching Callabeatis. Help me Obi Wan!
