There are techniques that really help lock materials down to the shank. Bucktail can be tricky. Things like squirrel tail can be really tricky to get it to hold.
Thread selection and lashing the shit to the shank is something I learned from watching Gunner Brammer vid on thread control. Very helpful

Don't forget the super glue, a tiny bit goes a looooooong way
