Thanks. I was wondering where everyone went.Nice to see you here!
Top for the win.
Have you considered larger eyes? Something that pops a bit more maybe?Tying up some more random stuff for an upcoming AK trip. This one might pull double duty as a local bass fly as well.

That Spaghetti Monster is wild..
That FSM is gonna push a lot of water. Love it!
I just tried something that I think will work pretty well for a weed guard. I put a couple drops of locktite gel superglue at the base of the deerhair throat where it meets the clipped head and bent those hairs forward slightly while the glue dried. It stiffened up those fibers, I hope just just enough to make the hook point ride over weeds.Maybe my biggest fly ever (I usually tie 14s and 16s). Size 2 stinger hook, ostrich, flash, peacock skinny herls near the eye of the stick, marabou, and deer hair. I'm hoping it will interest some LMB on a sinking line.

Another good weed guard, though perhaps more bulky, is to tie in three shorter sections of 20-25lb mono as "tails". One on top, the others on each side (left and right) of the shank. Tie the fly over them, then bend them down so they make loops just larger than the hook bend and point, and tie them off at the head. Crushes down when a fish bites, but keeps most weeds off.I just tried something that I think will work pretty well for a weed guard.
