grabbed a pheasant skin recently....it isn't often I tie up these little trouty flies, but I kinda wanted something that I could tight-line, swing, strip, hang under a bobber....hopefully these [mostly] pheasant streamers will do the trick. I dubbed a quick collar of Kraken dubbing mainly just to cover up some sloppy thread wraps, but the rubber legs in the dubbing will give some additional movement. Tough to follow up some of these recent flies posted though...damn, really good stuff coming off people's vises.

I like them. Good and buggy looking. Gunnar has a few pheasant jig type flies for his 4wt chronicles. Just in case you need a few other ideas. Lol.

I really enjoy the flies folks put on the thread. Some great stuff and creativity.

I know, I started with the idea of going his route, but had far less real estate on these little jig hooks and wanted something even quicker to tie.

Silver Tip I

Hooks - TMC7999 or DAI2441 or equivalent, sizes 4-10

Thread - Black

Tip - Oval gold tinsel

Tag - Short strand of red yarn

Body - Oval gold tinsel

Wing - Gray squirrel tail tied low over the body

Hackle - Yellow tied on as a collar and tied back

Head - Black with a red center band

The original pattern called for silver tip grizzly bear hair for the wing.

Silver Tip II

Hooks - TMC7999 or DAI2441, sizes 4-10

Thread - Black

Tip - Flat silver tinsel

Ribbing - Flat silver tinsel

Body - Black floss

Wing - Black moose hair tied low over the body

Keith Fulsher of Eastchester, New York, originated this pattern in 1960. The silver tinsel ribbing on this pattern should be wrapped so there are equal portions of both black floss and silver tinsel showing.
