I was also going to say cicada but refrained because I did not think they lived in Washington. Learned something today.

Apparently one always remembers after plucking one off the back of one's neck :oops:, even if they can't hurt you . . .

Cicada. Used to have big "emergences" in Nevada......came across a massive amount of em driving between Winnemucca, and Ontario on hiway 95......like covering the road, covering our windshield with splattered ones. It was wild!
 
Like I said, I don't recall seeing these Cicada before. Been coming across these molted carcuses the last two days. The body on the adult above was about 1". 3/4" below.

May need to tie some adults, but I think I got something passable, a small black stimulator.
