My dad caught a couple nice ones on the crocodile and lost a couple big ones on the popper. For all of the 15lb maxima fans out there, I can tell you it does not like the coral heads . I lost a few crocodiles to big fish and the reef.

Dang! Just came back from Kona. Wish I could take my Scout center console over there. Puget Sound is fun, but that is off the hook!

I lived in Kona for many years, just relocated to Oregon but I still own a boat there.

I got my yearly trip to fish some tropical water back home. I didn’t get as much time as I would have hoped to fish as I got sick a couple days into the trip, but got the 7 and 10yo setup to catch what they could catch. The highlight for them was catching halalu (juvenile big eye scad).

It wouldn’t be a fishing trip out there though without me catching at least one of these.
