The fishing is not crappie

Wasn't sure what I'd encounter today, figured it was a crap shoot.

Started off, well, on the board, with this pair and some bigger

Everything that really pulled hard went down and in and ended this way.

Then I found these guys and they kept me busy for a few hours with the doc spratley

And that wooly bugger was the best. Never had such a day crappie fishing, what a hoot.

Fun report!

Are any of you panfish enthusiasts aware if we have both white and black crappie in WA? The photos @Tom Butler posted are a little different than what I see of typical black crappie. But it could just be a regional thing.

Fun report!

Thanks for posting that. I thought they were black ones, and that what the fish survey lists. The WDFW webpage for the lake lists them as white. They sure pull well for their size.
