I was surprised to see a box of terrestrials in the mail yesterday from the forum member (don't think he's made it over here yet but will be) that came to fish a couple weeks ago. I've not fished most of these and was excited most by the beetles, but he said the black spider was good so that's were I started. Wanted to give them a good go so I went light and just carried a small box of favorites as well to fish with the little cortland rod that's great for flies this size. Put a muddler daddy on the point.
Went way upstream to find some place where I thought these might be good.
The spider got a couple, the foam hopper got a couple, but all small. I put on the beetle and drew some better fish that I lost.
similar to this one that crashed the muddler daddy.
It was a neat gift and I had fun trying some new to me patterns. I like that beetle! Thanks.
