Swimmin' flies....

I took the opportunity on a really nice day to get out and swim a bunch of my recent flies that were all tied on a relatively newer platform that I've been using.

I ended up out here:

Water was very low and pretty cold ranging from 45-46 degrees on the surface. Another 5 degrees will get things really moving out there. I didn't spot any fish, nor did I really expect to, but I did mark a few here and there. All were suspended, which usually means good things...

I ended up fishing all of these that I've tied relatively recently just to see how they all swam, cast, etc. They all swam exactly as I expected depending on cadence and strength of strip.....

Except for ONE....this little thing had the wackiest, craziest movement on the hard and soft strip. Very random and erratic. I've gotta figure out exactly why this is....more on that later.

I'm not going to take it completely apart because I think that once things warm up just a little bit, this one will see a lot of faux musky mouths.

🍻

Those are always cool looking flys...

I'll take it....appreciate the kind words.

Honestly, while I liked how that one swam, it did look kinda funny in the water (cause of the hard color transitions). I'm gonna have to work on a new Bronco one that I'll actually fish.

I can't say much here...

I have a few Seahawk spey flys...

Blue and green for the lower Hoh.

🤣

Opposite on the color wheel...always tough.
