View attachment 30655Salmon shark (I believe) off Mocrocks last year. Another passerby at the site hauled it off for unbeknownst and nefarious purposes...
From the photograph It appears that its belly is ripped open. Beyond the resident (Southern Resident Killer Whales -> salmon eaters and Bigg's = Transient killer whales (marine mammal predators), there is a 3rd type of killer whale, "the offshores". These killer whales are known for consuming the lipid-rich livers of sharks.

Not odd, weird or strange, but for how many seagulls there are on Puget Sound you rarely see a dead one on the beaches.
This one looked like it was in a deep sleep.
