Thought I'd do a new post. I'm with a new non profit that helps Special Operations military and their Guild Star families.

Needing all sorts of freshwater and saltwater fishing gear (rods, reels, lures, waders, etc) also crabbing and shrimping gear. They are doing camping so any tents, sleeping bags, pads, etc can be used. Have in kind donation forms to give.

Can use life vests as well.

And doesn't need to be fancy.

Thanks, I can pickup, within a lot of WA state.

I have a Fishcat 4 float tube that @J Watrous gave me when I moved to Washinton. Foam seat.

Pretty faded from hanging in partial sun under my carport and not very clean, but it held air the last time I used it. If your group can use it, you can have it. I also have a pair of fins that I'll donate with it. I'm on Martha Lake South in Mill Creek.

Watrous gave me a tube also. I am willing to donate. In Seward Park (South Seattle). If I can find the photos I will add later.

Looks similar to this - Water Skeeter without fins.

Do you have more info on the non-profit? Website or anything? Are you ever in the Monroe area? Snohomish? I have a lot of items I'd be willing to donate. Fly tying, reels, maybe some lines, a few pairs of waders, maybe some camping gear, and more. Would be great to go to a good cause.

I do. I'll get some info tomorrow. I've been on a boat all day. It's The Highwaymen Group dealing with Special Operations.

Ok. A little more info. I'm Special Operations those who are in these elite units (tabbed Special Forces, Marsoc, Seals, etc). A lot of things behind the scenes that hinder their mental healing while active duty. So this is a 501C3 that focuses on healing these elite military members active duty or veterans.

Here's link to their page. They are really new and I'm helping them out.

Jerry, I have something you may want, I kind of promised someone here I’d give them a chance at it if I didn’t want it but I think they would understand and I’m willing to send it your way for a good cause. It’s not that I don’t like the kit but I live a long way from places I can use this and it probably will not see that much action since I got the boat. It is my Redington trout spay kit and would be something special for one of your special forces soldiers. It casts beautifully has a reel, line and weighted tip and travel case. Retail listed value is $500 plus another $50 for the line extras. I also have a brand new pair of good lightweight waders with attached socks from Bass pro Shops I paid a couple hundred for. The waders are new I have never used them and are a tall large size if I remember correctly and the $750 write off will come in handy and I’d feel good knowing it is helping someone very deserving instead of seeing action maybe once a year. I guess this all would need to be shipped FedX will pack and ship if I can’t find a suitable box… or maybe you know someone that can get everything to you saving some money? We will talk and figure all this out.
Cheers, Clark

Clark, Jerry recently had a stroke and is on the road to recovery, so it might be a while before he responds.

Thank you for the heads up and link I made a donation. I’m sure all this is very stressful for Jerry and his. Family, maybe there is some way to offer my Redington Kit and waders in an online auction with the proceeds going to the go fund me account, possibly others would have things to donate also, I wonder if EBay offers anything like this?

I hope Jerry’s recovery is speedy

eBay is a no go, but I think Facebook maybe in an outdoor group would as I know some groups that are for buying and selling conduct auctions? I’ll check and see if I can find something there?
