Non-Fly Squid fishing in South Puget Sound?

There have been reports of solid squid fishing in Seattle and Edmunds. That was fine with I had a fishing buddy who lived in Seattle and could crash at his house, but he moved to Oso which doesn't help. Does anyone have any recommendations for squid fishing piers from Tacoma and points south ?

It's been awhile since I've squid jigged but there's Les Davis in Tacoma and it turns out that WDFW's list of public piers can now be sorted by "good for squid jigging." Hope you get some!

Great memories squid jigging. I think I had a squid jig I convinced my dad to buy me, when I was pretty young, at the boat show in the kingdome that had been laying in my tackle box for years. Finally took it out not knowing what I was doing in Edmonds. Hello generators and Halogen lights! and Asians....(not meant to be derogatory) Everyone helped me get the hang of it and bring home some calamari....

We used to do it back in the day at the Pt Defiance boathouse. Not sure if it is still allowed after dark there.
It was a lot less popular thing to do back then.
The Fox Island pier might be another option if it is open in the evenings.

Went out Saturday evening at LD. Left after a hour or so as tides were getting poor and when me and 125 of my closest friends only caught 2. They are around on the right night/tide.
 
Don't the squid migrate farther south in the sound as the winter progresses? So the south sounds spots should get better in Jan-Feb?
 
Oh man, this discussion is making me jealous. Those squid calamari are so freakin' delicious!

The whole go out at night in the winter and then get home late with a bucket of squid is a Major PITA but fantastic eating
