This is one reason that I keep both left reeling spinning and right reeling bait casters in my jig arsenal. So I can switch back and forth for which hand is reeling or pulling on the rod to give both a break.

You need a balanced work out lol
Like skipping leg day

You know every once in a while on a nice sunny evening ( thinking Deception Pass state park in August and a couple other places) there is nothing wrong with a chair, a mini cooler, a book or magazine, a stout spinning rod and reel combo, a stick/cowbell set up. Put some raw bacon, night crawler, or whatever on the end of your hook. Stand up and cast, arrange your line/ set up , sit down and back, reach in the cooler draw a cold one and start reading or look at the inside of your eyelids, relax. Wait for the bell to ding.

No waders, no constant moving/walking, no stripping line in different combinations of retrieval, no changing of flies, no hip basket, no waders. Just a chair, shorts, and sandals dipping in an inch of water. Sun falling. A just enjoy the sounds/smells/sights adventure

It’s the one thing gear fishing can give you…a quiet calming non ambulate relaxation on the water

Never knew about it. It looks entertaining plus it has a high rating. Don’t watch much tv. But that scene cracked me up and relatable…. I’ll have to check it out.

I usually dont watch series shows tho. I watch a couple British things but others nah.

Where can I buy that rod rack? It’s a matter of time before I break a rod tip leaning them on my wall
That came from sportsmans, like $24 on closeout, Rush Creek brand.

Truth is I fish walleye and musky more than trout ....
I dabble with walleye a bit during the summer and spring. Still not particularly good at it, and need to venture to waters beyond my locals to have hope of really having a banner day. But it's a pretty relaxing way to spend a day fishing. I do enjoy it.

We need a Dirtbaggery poll with a self rating. :devilish: Evan has already staked his claim as King of the PNWFlyfishing Dirtbags, but I'll chime in that I gearfish for Walleye and Bass, Mooch and jig for Salmon on occasion, bounce jigs and bait for Halibut and Lingcod, and have no problem swinging a spoon or float rod for hatchery Steelies if I want to spend a cold day on water that is not swing-friendly. My gear rod total does not quite match my flyrod total, but it's close. Unfortunately, I don't have a segregated space for them so no impressive pics from me.
