This one took a craw pattern, although he was apparently already so stuffed they were crawling back out his throat!

Here's the one in my avatar. This is the look he gave me after snapping the tip of my 5wt with a last second dive under the kayak.
Not sure I won that battle

6 pounds on a yellow bucktail popper with Matt P.@Billy do you still have your Grant County tourism promo picture from Park before the rotenone?
I think you missed your chance to use that exposure to propel a campaign for mayor of Soap LakeView attachment 34226 pounds on a yellow bucktail popper with Matt P.
We caught a female largemouth 4 years in a row...it had very distinctive scar on the gill plate...but not last year, hope it's still alive. The last time it was caught it weighed 6lb 14oz! Never on a fly rod though it was caught on a frog or POP-R every time.I liked this one so much I caught her 2 years in a row...fly rod popper both timesView attachment 3419
This isn't from the PNW, but a trip back home to Northern MN last summer. It was the best couple days of smallmouth fishing that I've ever experienced. This one missed the magical 20" mark by about 1/8'.

I like it. Seems like everybody (in general, not saying on here) rounds up on fish length and lots of talk about 20” smallmouth when in reality that’s not an easy number to hit on many waterways.
