Self-Releasing Hooks?

Fascinating concept, just not sure I see a big advantage over barbless for trouts and smaller fish like our local salmon, since once in the rubber net the hook usually comes out on its own.

Big fish, though could definitely benefit from hooks that release the fish when they're within netting distance.

I’m usually fine with seeing the fish just to get a look at the type and size
After that it can go on its way
