Had a good time on Friday & Saturday. Great fishing & great weather. Got just a tad breezy on Saturday, but toughed it out and caught plenty of fish. I think just a couple of us stayed out there all day. The wind chased most of the smart ones away. I ended up in "Wind Hole" and was able to fish safely.
Met some good dudes and caught up with a few others, including Shawn. I mean, it's March right?
I decided to pull the boat out on Saturday night to keep my options open for Sunday since there was a wind warning discussing gusts of over 50 mph. Given I had a few over 35 mph on Saturday I had had enough. So I slept in at my nice park model RV Airbnb in Kittitas and then hit some local planter lakes there. Not a bump. Haha!
And after about 2 hours of bobbers and stripping combined the wind came up pretty good. I relented and drift trolled to the windy side, parked the boat, and just walked back to the truck. Call it a pre-drive walk to get the legs working. It was surely more pleasant than rowing back to where I launched.
NOTE- The 509 Philly Stop in Kittitas is legit! Highly recommend.
I was home by 3:30, which was nice as the pass was sloppy wet when I went over. Glad it wasn't dark.
Here's some pics.
