Resin body chironomids

I’ve been tying these resin body and resin segment chironomids for well over a year. It’s kinda been my labour of love. I don’t have a ton of experience fishing them yet but I have sent a few to friends who have had pretty good success. It’s not an easy tie, more artsy than practical, but recently there’s been several requests to do a video. It’s not a short video but there’s too much to cover to reduce it to a fast 90 seconds for Instagram. If your interested here’s the link

Certainly won't have issues with unraveling threads or wire. They sure look good. I wonder how they fish compared to a traditional chironomoid?

So far there’s been some success but not a ton of time fishing them yet. I’m pretty confident they’ll be just fine, at least they better be for the amount of work tying them
