My mum just sent me the photo below, of my dad and I, circa 1999. Dorky hats, chubby faces and and $50 PVC waders were very en vogue at the time, so give me some leeway.

The important point is that this is definitive proof that I didn't always just lob tungsten beads. I now consider the matter closed, once and for all.

Before you ask, yes the fish were released quickly and swam away unharmed. #keepthemwet

We gave that one speed holes, so it could swim away even faster. It's an upgrade.

I see what looks like a down locking reel seat. Fly patch looks like it's all nymphs. I'm not convinced you weren't euro nymphing.
