PNW Fly Fishing Semi-Official Swap, Shop, Fish & Eat - May 17, 2025

@Jerry Daschofsky is indeed going to be doing what he does best at this event. As the event gets closer, we are going to put meal tickets up for sale. Food from Jerry will be pre purchase only. Plan is $25 a piece for something worth a whole lot more than that.

More details will be posted on this later. But did want to comfirm.

I’ve got campsite #19 reserved for the 16th and 17th. If campsites get thin I’m open to sharing the site as I’ll be tent camping. Looking forward to meeting some of you. @Jerry Daschofsky cant wait to see your set up and talk cast iron cooking!
If Jerry's cooking.. you're crazy not to go.. seriously!

This should be a lot of fun. We’ll have to put out a chair for OMJ.

I just discovered that there is a group camp site with an even better kitchen shelter facility in the same park. Those of you who are camping: Would you be interested in having our own campground for this and pitching in for this? I think it's a way more awesome option. I'm already in touch with Tacoma Power to move us over to this.

Sounds fun! I’d be happy to pitch in if I make it down to stay the night. Move over Hoh Down, it’s time for a Mayfield Showdown Musky Throw-down.

edit, now that this is really a go, I'll just commit and say I am coming, and it shall happen! no "ifs"

I am waiting for my contact there to get back to me. Probably still too early. I just asked if he thinks it'd be a good fit for what we want to do as far as parking and overall space. But the idea of having a more private area to have our gear out and not have to worry about anyone else is appealing. I think the main downsides are potentially parking and water access as the original shelter is right by a wide open beach. So pluses and minuses to both.

Or maybe we just reserve both areas and plan to really party

I tried to post about this over at FlyBC and it disappeared. Not sure why? Maybe some of our Canadian brethren could spread the word.

Maybe need to get permission from the moderators? I haven't been on that site so not sure how they operate.

The group campground sounds like a great idea.
I think I may do it either way. It'd be cheaper for whoever wants to camp, too. I think we'd keep the other shelter as well as a casting area next to the water, but keep all our gear swap and feasting at the group site. I just need to work with the park manager as it won't let me reserve both for some reason on the website (says I already have a reservation).
