It's official! We have the picnic shelter AND Group Camp Site at Mayfield Lake booked on May 17th for the day. The main event will be held at the group camp site in the far back of the park. Check in with park staff when you arrive and they'll give directions if needed. We are keeping the picnic shelter reservation as an area for easy waterfront casting and gear testing.

Where
Mayfield Lake Park | Group Camp Site | Beach Picnic Shelter
180 Beach Road, Mossyrock, Washington, 98564

When
May 17
10am-Whenever we're done

Camping
There is limited space for joining in on the group camp site! Click the link below to get your site. We will send out emails as things get closer to everyone who reserves a site to go over any further details.
RESERVE A SITE
(Reservations are all for 2 nights. $50 for tent, $70 for RV. That's total price for both nights.)

What
Bring your gear you want to barter, sell, give away, or show off. Anything fishing or boating related. Fly fishing, conventional fishing, rods, reels, tackle, flies, apparel. Whatever you have that you want to offload.

The lake is open for fishing! Muskie, bass, and I'm sure other interesting prospects will be swimming around for those who can get out on the water.

Food
To be determined. We could make it a potluck style, hire someone to feed us if we all pitch in some funds, or other ideas I'm open to. We have a few months to decide.

Jerry will be cheffing. More details will be posted later on how to reserve your meal.

A few things of note:
- No alcohol allowed in the day use facilities (the beach/kitchen shelter in the public park. So we will neither be providing alcohol, nor will anyone with visible containers be allowed around the event. Whatever is in your pocket flask is between you and your pocket. It IS allowed in the campground/group camp site. That said, be on your best behavior. Babysitting obnoxious drunks is NOT how I want to spent this event. Thank you kindly.

- Pets on leash only. No exceptions.

- No for profit or fundraising activity. We are good to go and approved for the gear swap, but nobody can come and sell for their business or take donations for any organizations.

There is a campground at the park. Those traveling from far away should get their spot reserved sooner than later.

No location, time, or any other detail will ever work for everyone, so please don't make posts about how you want it to be another time or anything else that'd muddy the waters/confuse the message. This is the date and location we're committing to. Thanks for understanding.

THIS IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO PNWFF MEMBERS!
Feel free to let your fly clubs, other forums, bookface groups, or anyone else know. The more the merrier!

WOOO! This should be fun. I just booked the last waterfront campsite for the night of May 17, but there are a few others still available on the camping loop. I suggest we pitch in and hire @Jerry Daschofsky to feed us!

What do you think I booked? ;)
It showed as "available" just now when I was booking my Campsite 48 (which might be the state's smallest and least private campsite, but hey, it is on the water!).

Mayfield Lake

This reservoir was formed by the construction of Mayfield Dam. It is managed for catchable rainbow trout and warmwater species. Tiger muskies were introduced in 1993 to help in controlling nuisance northern pikeminnow (squawfish) populations.

The lake is located about three miles west of Mossyrock. The big attraction is tiger musky fishing. The state record is currently over 31 pounds; larger ones are out there. The best tiger musky fishing is during the warmer months. Consult the current Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for specific regulations at this lake.

Surplus hatchery Coho and fall Chinook may be placed in the lake for additional fishing opportunity. Yellow perch are also caught in fair numbers, and a few largemouth bass are present. Boating access is available at a Lewis County park just off of Highway US-12, at Ike Kinswa State Park, and at a private resort. There is fair shore fishing access at the state park and at the Mossyrock Trout Hatchery. Call Tacoma Power's toll free fishing line at 888-502-8690.

Speaking of tables, I'll probably have more stuff to swap than I can hold in two hands. I'm thinking of bringing a folding table to display my stuff. Good idea or bad idea?
Great idea

Just one innocent question. Why select a park that says no to alcohol?
Alcohol in campsites is fine:

https://www.mytpu.org/community-environment/parks-recreation/park-rules/#pattern_2

Alcohol in kegs and other bulk containers is not allowed.
Store and consume alcoholic beverages only in your site or group camp circle.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the day-use areas or on the Taidnapam Park fishing bridge.

All are welcome to store some cans or a bottle at my campsite and/or wander over for a beer.

I planned to do the same
