Please convince me to buy a trout spey rod

Anyone just put a singlehand speyline on their single and speycast? That's what I do. I just don't like fighting fish on long rods. I also sold all my long spey rods and my longest is a "short spey" 12'3" and others are switch. I just have not found a situation where I have been undergunned without a longer rod but I have definitely felt my rod was too long. 3wt. 12' trout speys? I just could not bring myself to go there for those little fish.

All the time! Especially with winter steelhead. I love fishing that way.

I going to start unloading all but one trout spey setups I compiled over the years. Picked up most of it from members on the board here. Just don't get out to use it much anymore. A nice ACR and a custom Flyworks rod that are nice 5-6wt sticks. Couple of Hardy 7000 DD's and whatever gazillion heads I compiled with them. But I do love throwing them. I'll keep the Redington 3 wt Claymore I suppose.
