Pink Year

I live on a lake washington draining stream and saw this guy this morning. Glare was bad but 75% sure it was a pink.

It’s always kind of interesting to look at the hatchery escapement reports and the odd balls that show up at the various facilities.
I wonder where the 79 humpies that showed up at Minter creek thought they were going?
Maybe colonizing new turf or just got confused and followed some chinook and coho up the creek?

There have been a few there every run for a while. They pass them over the weir so that they can spawn in the creek, so it’s possible that the 79 this year are actually naturalized Minter progeny.
