Donating a painting is one way to get your work in a museum for posterity.

It was in a select group of art and artists that was hand chosen for a showing. After showing for about 6 months at Portlands Benson hotel i decided to donate it as it had press associated with it.

I did just get this done. I finished the little build the vitrine
and base to protect it.
This is in a museum collection, unless they sold it . I really do not know . I worked in a large museum for 22 years. In the 70’s i had a half dozen paintings purchased with Clark colleges money for collections i found out 40 years later from a facillitator that the accounting was bad then and … in other words crooks ex employees. And theft. Deaccessioning in museums has been an issue. I have been contacted and have discovered my work in various places. Online auctions and estate sales

Dark long desert highway
Lit by striped light
Fence posts march by
Throw long shadows
Across my plight
The cusp of day
The dust and delay
As the sun crests
On the desert horizon
Looking behind
Rear view mirror
The road winds
Behind me
This trip was needed
Life binds me
Find a negative space
A quiet void
And tranquil place
Where seconds, minutes
And hours can't find me.

compared to you

as bright as the day

comes out to play
As blue as

You help me convey
What few understand
Simile is always there
Ready to help and
Willing to share.

Our color again
All the colors we are
Dressed in rainbow stars
A glimpse of the trip
Taking us far

Artists always get strange ideas. Whether they pursue some idea is up to them. I have done so a lot of times. Ideas in my noggin executed to match what i envisioned. Sometimes i ask myself why?
