I have no idea if the statement below is accurate (saw it on FB so who knows) but it is certainly not 0. It seems like with as many WA Chinook as AK catches (or discards, even worse) any recovery plan that does not include AK interception is inadequate. My apologies if addressed in the plan...kudos the the author(s) if it is. If not addressed, that's one place I'd be starting...talking with ADFG.

The trawl fleet in the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) reported wasting 1,118 king salmon last week.
That's 159 dumped kings each day.

Thanks Bruce. I hadn’t seen your post.
I thought to put it there too, but figured this will have an affect for a larger cross section of readers, ie; anyone fishing any of our waters be it salmon, steelhead, trout or Bullheads. I figured this section would be appropriate as well.

Good point Greg. It does make sense .
