So today I fished from 12:00-5:00, C&R’d 7 big trout with 5 on the Black ugly stick! A couple of epic battles! One in particular…..hit the top chironomid and just peeled line off towards the middle of the lake! Few spins left of fly line, that little reel was screaming! 
The fish were 15”-18” fat and feisty!!

One of yesterday’s fish was bleeding so I kept it…..not a big fan of eating trout, I used to keep some for my mom once in awhile when she was alive. For a recently stocked fish it has nice orange meat! It was even oranger with the skin on. We’ll see how it tastes tonight, hope it tastes as well as it fought!

No such luck……tastes like any trout to me. More soy sauce…..definitely fought better.

Scored some more nice fighting rainbows on the stick again! Put some new sets in it!
They say to rotate the rod while fighting the big ones. So with that stick, it’s probably best to rotate it throughout the battle to keep it nice and even.
