Need trip ideas for late June.

Green Drakes on the Provo? Tarpon in the Keys? Those are my goals for June this year.

With a good fishing buddy, a campfire, some ales, steaks and a handful of cdc elk hair caddis almost anyplace is a great place to go. I prefer travelling less and staying longer, it always takes a day or so to get dialed in anyway.

If you like lakes check out Meadow Lakes Fly Fishing Camp north of Kamloops. There are 8 or 9 lakes so you can be the only boat on the lake every day if you want. Good food. Good exchange rate etc. There are other camps in the area and many, many non-camp lakes

Hard time of year to fish moving water in the northern Rockies. You might look to southern OR, northern NV, or SW ID. Without hot spotting, that’s prime time on a number of rivers in that area.

One more note. From your location, the above suggestions would mean less driving and more fishing.

A lot of the recommendations are great but also feel like trips you could do on a 4 day weekend. What about a trip to Baja for roosters and Mahi? Can be fairly affordable down there and the folks at Reel Baja are a great resource.

For a milestone event, I’d prefer a unique experience if you can swing it especially if the Rocky Mountains may still be in runoff form…that could turn into just a long road trip.
