They don’t necessarily seed the teams in the region they are located in unless you are a top seed and even that doesn’t always hold true. See Florida as West #1, because there are no really super good west coast teams this year and the SEC is loaded this year. Lower seed teams do tend to have to travel more.

I don't even know what sport this is so it doesn't really matter. Just thought it was funny to see UCSD as "east". ;)
