This is a fun little pattern for under an indicator or with sinking lines. Easy to throw with a 6 weight. IMG_20220330_060602_317.jpg
Supplies:Screenshot_20220411-204707.pngIf you don't have a jig head addiction like I do a simple slotted bead/hook would work too.
Step 1: Tie in a long clump of mallard flank feathers (apologies this pic is blurry).Screenshot_20220411-204724.pngStep 2: Tie in a shorter tail of marabou. I try to get this all the way around the hook and use a bright color as an accent.Screenshot_20220411-204742.pngStep 3: Prep a flank feather. Start small and look for thin stems. Tie in. Screenshot_20220411-210744.pngStep 5: Continue picking feathers, tying in and wrapping feathers hackle style forward. It takes 4-6 to do a fly. Small stems is key so you dont get bumps and taking your time with small feathers. Screenshot_20220411-204821.pngStep 6- Finish off with a deep red color thread and whip finish. Screenshot_20220411-204835.pngStep 7- Take it for a dip😀IMG_20220403_063115_875.jpg

Very simple. What size hook is that? I have lots of mallard flank and some natural wood duck. Thanks.
