Years ago I caught a bunch of rainbows on the San Juan fishing a tan leech. No bead head on it. The way it was ties it looked like a San Juan worm with a small amount of material out the front and back. It was thinner and smaller than these, but the same principle. I think the one I used was tied with a piece of auto chamois like in the video.

I frankly didn't catch too many carp on this pattern but only went a handful of times when they were around down here but I fished it for cutthroat in the rivers and had a ton of success. Movement is ok, wouldn't say its phenomenal but it is super durable and fishes well!

That's cool! on our beaches berkley camo sand worms really work. I'm going to try these chamois buckskin worms and see if our fish here love them like sand worms.

I have been playing with leather leeches on westside lakes this year and am a big fan. Quite durable, I think the movement is quite good, and I like that it’s a little different look.

Been tying them in balanced formats (some with a pin, others with inverting beads) and also have done some like the leech in the OP post. All have caught fish.

One thing… if you’re using the material, you’ll want a craft/fabric rotary cutter and a cutting mat. I also use a ruler to keep my cuts straight.
