Solid work! Is that the Bandit? (I vaguely remember it was green). Thanks for the (needed) inspiration. Maybe this weekend .....

No, it's my 8wt NFC Iconoglass (same green though). It's really more of a 9+, but I made it work with my cobbled together 275gr intermediate skagit head that I made a number of years ago.

Look at the motor on that guy! and on the Iconoglass! I am closer to 375 for my Skagit work, but I am 2 handling, no haul. The 868 Iconoglass is a big fish tamer for sure.

It's a little deceiving since the tail is curved up due to the net. Makes him look a little smaller and his tail much larger.

thx!

3 miracles occurred that day:

1. fish eating in cold AF water (dunno how cold, but I couldn't stand in it for very long)
2. fish stayed pinned while I was fumbling around with my phone get that 'action' shot
3. fish stayed pinned after it took me several attempts to actually net it (while I like the bag in my net, it's got a rather short handle)

He's got some Steelhead in him
