Gyotaku

Sounds like an fun project, and I'm interested in how it comes out. Best advice I have is to message artists selling gyotaku originals on Etsy asking if they'll do custom/commissioned work. I imagine most would, if the price was right.

This guy based out of California is a bit pricier, but he has some salmon in his portfolio already: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FishingForGyotaku

Thanks for the reply. Ideally I am looking for an artist invested in the pacific coast marine environment, open to a collaborative project,

Thanks for the reply. Ideally looking for an artist close enough “Olympic Peninsula” open to a collaborative project. Here is the space, five panels, sw exposure, early morning light filtered through vine maple branches ( light moves and changes through out the year and day ) the concept at this point is organic, it will grow and morph, it always does … so, the next piece of the puzzle, the artist and I are awaiting the crossing of our paths.

I would recommend Naoki Hayashi, Gyotaku by Naoki. These are a couple of the ones I have at the house. He does really nice work and has done large panels for restaurants, fishing shows etc. Naoki 808-330-2823. He is kinda the Michelangelo of gyotaku in Hawaii.

Thank you for this Hawaiian vibrant spiritUzpfSTUxNTI4MDgyODQ5MDIzMDoyNzMzNzQxMTA2NjQ0MTgw, you obviously live in a happy place. After figuring out my conceptual thoughts, I'm going to reach out to Mr. Hayashi, looking forward to that conversation, even though I may not be able to afford his work for my project, his insights I'm sure will be invaluable.
Thanks again for the contact info.

I bought this print of Half Pounders from Tom Giusti’s studio in Eureka CA about thirty five years ago. I know he was still creating his art a few years ago, so you might check him out.

Thanks man, I'll track him down, that was awhile ago, 1988, married my present bride 8/8/88 @ 8 pm at the Seattle aquarium, 8's have always been lucky for me, have to see where this goes now.

Guys, recommendations for framing? Just received a print by Barry Singer for my birthday.
