Grande Ronde wade fishing?

Things are brutally stressful in the office so I need to go away from everything and everyone and spend some time camping and fishing by myself. I have never fished the Grande Ronde before, and I have reserved some days in April for a 5 day trip. Looking at the info on the GR it comes through as a big river that is mostly fished by boat while targeting steelhead in winter or SM bass in summer. What about wade fishing for trout? Does anyone have some intel to share about where to go to for a camping/wade fishing trip? Or maybe it is not the correct river to do so? TIA.

For trout fishing on a stream in April, I'd try the Yakima. April on the Grand Ronde is steelhead spawning time. I don't think fishing for trout would be very productive.

Try the lochsa river. Not too far from the ronde and some nice places to camp and fish for trout. April might be a little early though on the Lochsa.
Awesome, have never been there either, will do some research on it. Thanks!
