We've all know what I'm talking about. The commercial showing a guy "fly fishing" with a spinning rod and a fly reel on it while the narrator talks about ED pills. Things like that.

Let's search the internet to make compilation in one thread.

There's that one Progressive Insurance commercial where the guy in the fishing get-up (Alan) is holding a 4-piece fly rod without the 4th piece. If I remember correctly, a silver spoon is attached right to the loop right at the end off the fly line.

I'll try to get a screen grab when I'm back at my computer tomorrow.

Not fly fishing (maybe dressed right) but this guy cracks me up

I tried looking for it tonight but can't find it anymore. I had sent it to my fishing buddy who works for Progressive, so I found that old message, but the YouTube link says the video is now private 😒

Sorry.

Edit: spoke too soon. GF who also works for Progressive came in clutch with a thumbnail to the now deleted video.

I tried finding a clip of it but I failed....

But on the show NCIS, in I believe the most recent season, theres a scene where Gibbs and Mcgee are fly fishing in Alaska. It's pretty damn comical.

There are spoons light enough to be cast with a fly rod, and even a Tenkara rod. I've found Chris Stewart - aka TenkaraBum, to be highly credible, and he says they work very well...

This ad, from a company that makes "fly fishing apparel," was always a favorite of mine

I have a serious hatred of all the "hot women in bikinis" fishing pictures these days. Not that I'm above enjoying hot women in bikinis, but I friggen hate using sex to sell the sport of fishing.

I know some incredibly awesome and talented women who fish, and they are far too focused on catching fish to ever give two shits about flaunting their bodies.

Oh I'm right there with you. But the hilarious part is they took all this time and effort to put the token "woman in bikini" in the ad, and they were so hyper-focused on her that they never noticed the state of her line... wrapped around the rod, in a big pile on the deck just hanging there... all while the guide and her are supposedly keying in on the target.

My favorites I see on IG are these scantily clad women, makeup and hair all done up, standing next to a pile of fileted fish at a cutting table with not a spec of blood or scales to be found on them. Give me a break.

Funny enough I didn't notice the line in that picture till you mentioned it and I zoomed in. Hilarious. And pathetic.

This fine company is looking for endorsements... 😉

As it goes with everything else, there are as many ways to fish with a Dick Nite Spoon as there are fishermen! We would be interested in your input! If you have ideas we have not covered here, please - email us and tell us about it!

don't be giving up my secrets, fly spoons are almost as successful as side planning with a spey rod & hot shots
