Fishing the Cool Weather Doldrums

Any photos of the sparkly white bunny leech? Size? Was it imitating baitfish in that lake, or just serving as an attractor pattern?
That was quite a few years ago, 10 at least. If memory serves, it was more an attractor. I have had similar results on that lake with a white Woolley Bugger as well.

Years ago, I watched a guy trolling a white bunny leech behind a rowboat (West side lake). He was killing em and I could not get a bite. Fast trolled, deep , sparkly white bunny leech might be an option worth trying, it's worked for me in the winter. The fast troll was, for me, counterintuitive, but it seems to work for me. BTW that guy gave me a particular fly that I have duplicated many times. He was rowing his boat much faster than I was kicking my floatube
In winter a couple times I've had successfully trolled leeches at warp speed rowing my pontoon boat as fast as I could work the oars.

In Winter I purposely get a late start. Two sessions ago, I picked up a couple quick fish and then it was slow the rest of the day, so I started a bit earlier the next time and again a few more quick sunrise fish then nothing. I really have no desire to go early but if things don’t improve I guess I’ll have to.😖

My favorite fish caught year was dirtbagged. It was caught by my 14 year old grandson at Baker Lake on the Sockeye opening day. He ended up with 3, his mom landed 2 and I landed 2 with a broken right elbow fractured 2 days before the opener20250712_125645.jpg

The next favorite wasn't caught by me either. It was caught just last Wednesday by @Stonedfish. A beautiful 21" brown trout which was a personal best brown for Brian.
I felt blessed to just be present and see the joy in my family and friend when they catch fish.
Fishing never gets old for me.
@Evan B can you please move this post to the Annual favorite fish of the year thread. Thank you.
Those senior moments 😮‍💨suck!
