My wife and I made the hour-long drive from our home (on Vancouver Island) to one of our favourite small rivers to fish for rainbows, which migrate up fom the lake every May - June.
We were a bit early and the river was still too high with snow melt, to be able to cross back and forth...but we did manage 7-8 each and had a really enjoyable day....How can you not in surroundings like this ? An added bonus was that I'd built two glass rods, with this river specifically in mind, so was able to put them to good use today.

Were you both happy with your new glass rods.?

Very nice! That fourth pic is a beauty. It looks like a painting. The patterns on the water and the markings on the trout compliment each other very well.
How do you two like those Graywolf reels?

Our favourite local river...gin-clear, with deep green runs....always have good days there.
I really like the reels..old-school-style clickers that, IMO, go well with the rods.
