I haven’t fished the Spokane river in almost 20 years but my new office is downtown and I’m in there all the time now. Monday was a market holiday so the office was closed making it a perfect day to get some uninterrupted work done…and fish for a few hours. I got on the water around 1:30 and after 30 minutes of dredging a double nymph rig some BWO’s started popping and the heads started poking up. I switched up in time to make about 5 cast before an absolute downpour hit and knocked the hatch down ending the fun BUT in those 5 casts I had a taker.
