COVID Lockdowns - looking back (fishing related)

Life of the Party
While a lot of things came to a halt in 2020, I actually loved the opportunity to take a break from coaching and year-round kid's sports to focus more on camping, fishing, hunting, and other outdoor fun. I fished more during the 'lockdowns' than all of the previous 10 years combined I think.

Here are some pics of our family adventures.

Here is one of my older boys who just this year decided to try some fishing again - hadn't really fished with me since he was little. He's 20 now. Got him into some humpies and he also joined me for some kayak fishing.

We got blown off the lake and had to wait out a nasty windy rainstorm for 20 minutes huddled under some cover we found.

Then this guy just starts hammering humpies while I was having to work hard for each strike on my fly rod. He was twitching jigs and slamming them.

Enjoyed some amazing sunsets with my wife while fishing from the kayaks:

Envious of both the amount of time you seem to get on the water and your family's joy in sharing it with you. My family is very supportive but they want it to be "my" thing. It works but it doesn't stop me from wanting to share it with them.

Same here. She fishes and skis a little. But she'd rather me get out of the house and quit annoying her.

Great stuff- thanks for posting!

The pedal-kayak-lake reading thing... my wife might like that. Hmmmm....

Wonderful post, beautiful family.

Cheers

No lie…. The whole year of lockdown was a ton of fun for me! I did whatever I wanted for the whole year, lots of fishing and creating things. The only thing I wish is that I could do it all over again with what I know now. I would have done a lot more fishing.
