NFR College Football 2025

Non-fishing related
Just read that ND signed an MOU with the CFP that guarantees ND a to receive an automatic bid if ranked in the top 12 starting next year. And if the CFP expands to 14 teams, they will receive an automatic bid if they are ranked in the top 13.

I think they should have held out for just a flat out automatic bid, regardless of ranking.

🤣😁😉

How about join a conference rather than their phony alliance with a ACC……
That will likely never happen though due to the NBC money.

What a coincidence.........My fishing buddy is from Boise State. Multiple reasons to say GO BRONCOS !

Why join a conference now. In a few years conferences will be all gone.

The ACC maybe if schools win their lawsuits to leave, but I don’t see the SEC or Big 10 going anywhere. I used to think otherwise but not now with what the Big 10 is trying to do with the grant of rights and funding.
I can certainly also see why Michigan and USC are against it. Things are changing quickly and they don’t want to be locked in until 2046.
If the conferences do blow up, it would likely have to happen until after the current conference TV deals start to expire in 2030. I think the SEC deal expires in 2034 if I recall correctly.

Conferences are a legacy deal, with the TV deal being the only thing that is keeping them around.

They need to abolish them in the NFL/ Pay to Play era, and just go to a pro/ NFL model with the top tier teams, divisions and playoffs.
They're pros now, so clinging to this conference thing benefits a minority of teams in D-1 sports.
ESPN is another issue, things started to turn when they bought bowls for TV advertising sales.

The SEC and BIG10 won't like it, but a good argument can be made that those 2 are the biggest problem in NCAA football...with their relentless pursuit of revenue and pay to play.

Just my view...

I go back and forth with thoughts on how the playoff schedule is determined but mostly I feel the committee selects as it meets their agenda, throwing consistency out the window. Expanding from a 4-team playoff to 12 was supposed to eliminate all the belly aching but if anything, it seems to have made it worse. There is always going to be teams, coaches, conferences that complain about the outcome. I heard something about getting rid of conference champions and just select the top 12 ranked teams at the end of the season and have a playoff based off that. Not sure it solves anything/everything but I like the simplicity of it. I like listening to the rants and campaigning for a bit but then it just gets old. Win and your in...control your own destiny. If you can't do that, then don't complain about the outcome.

Should be 132 schools, 8 team regional divisions, 16 champ playoffs. Win you're in. A lot of good teams will be left for excellent bowl machups.
Gotta get the money out. Student-athletes. Certainly no play no cash.

Now he's in jail for assault I read. No details, but lots of rumors...sounds like some weird stuff went down.
VERY weird stuff. I have no idea how some of these coaches think they're going to get away with freaky stuff. Sounds like he's on suicide watch, but after that is over he's in deep legal trouble. Crazy

Boise St. VS Dawgs on ABC at 5pm on Saturday.

Like both teams.

Go Boise St.!

This is the only time you'll see this out of me...
