Deboer and Grubb just didn't get anything going, and no mid game adjustments.

Wonder if they'll be fired ?

I doubt it but who knows these days.
I don’t think Bama has LSU type money or the appetite to swallow $60-70 million on his buyout. That is the figure I’ve seen.

Yeah, it was sort of tongue in cheek, but also sort of a dig at NCAA football and the SEC in general.

The Bama fan forums were already calling for his head. It's crazy, but then again, the way its become.

Right now, Deboer is getting the rep for losing big games, and Grubb is probably done.

On radio (some national program) said they don’t believe Alabama should be penalized for this loss. Matter of fact no team should be they said. They were saying it should be based on the regular 12 game season. Otherwise it benefits teams that have a good record but did not win their conference division. Winning a conference division should mean something.

If that is the case then a bubble team or a team just on the outskirts of making the CFP with a 9-3 or 10-2 record perhaps and who has won their division and goes to the championship game and clubs on the other division champ with a 11-1 or 12-0 record should not be rewarded? 🤔

Do we pick the 12 teams before Conference championship weekend?

I don’t think Bama should get in but many others disagree. Guess we’ll have to go to a March Madness type tournament over 6 weeks…. 64 teams. Start second week in December and crown a champ the Saturday on the quiet weekend between the NFL championship games and the Super Bowl. That’s a dead weekend anyways… this would spice it up a bit. Saturday evening game 1pm PST and 4pm EST….. everyone can have a pot of chili, wintery stew, or even a bbq and still get to bed at a decent hour. Bad idea. Probably. Someone will claim Montana should be invited. 🤣. Go Grizz !!!!

I bet that little Brutus guy is having a sad...

Nice game Indiana.

Looking for chaos. Hope to see Duke, Indiana, and BYU with wins tomorrow.
2 out of 3 on your chaos wishes. 👍

Finally a couple great games. Hoosiers are legit. Damn even stats.
Go James Madison! 😂

Not bad. Duke was a nice suprise. After they let UVA tie it in regulation I thought they were Cougan it for sure.

The selection committee will have some hard choices. No matter what they do some people are going to be pissed.

I'm curious to see where OSU is ranked and how the Bama/ND/Miami mess gets sorted. I'm guessing the Ducks stay at #5. Not a bad place to be.

I am liking that ND has opted not to participated in a bowl game. That gives me the opportunity to watch another bowl game.

I was surprised that Alabama got in because of how badly they were beaten.

They will have to expand. JMU in and not ND is a bit odd. But the cutoff no matter where will always have doubters and questions.

I read an online article and if I understand things correctly, five conference champions get automatic bids and I think one of them has to be the highest ranked champ from a Group of 5 conference. So with the ACC champ having an 8-5 record, the committee went with a second Group of 5 champ.

Much as I do not want to say it, I support Teams opting out of bowl games receive my support of their decision. I wish more would do that actually. The system selection is broken, the process selection process which changes on a weekly basis is broken, and the only way to demonstrate that is refusing to support it.

Maybe when the networks start receiving less advertising ad revenue for poorer, less competitive matchups will this change. It used to be about players and teams. Now it is about revenue. Follow the money...

100%. ESPN owns the college football playoff. ESPN is tied to the SEC. Notre Dame is an NBC product. If you listened to any ESPN broadcasts or shows this weekend it was pretty clear that their staff had been given the talking points to support the SEC team (regardless of outcome). It's embarrassing to them just how blatant it was. Alabama has some good/great wins, but at no point since mid-October have they resembled a contender for anyone that has watched them. I get that ESPN is in bed with the SEC, but I think they shot themselves in the foot with this with more than just their credibility. A fresh ND-Oklahoma matchup gets a lot more views (and nationwide audience) than an Alabama-Oklahoma rematch.

The way the CFB Playoff committee handled this was extremely poor. I've always been a ND hater, but they deserved a lot better.

In this case, it was Miami being selected over ND. Guess who owns the ACC broadcast rights? I also don’t think a three loss team should have gotten in.

I’m not a fan of teams out opting out of bowl games. There is a lot more to bowl games than just the games themselves. That is just me though. From a fan perspective, ND versus BYU would have been a bowl game I would have watched.
I’m also not a fan of players options out of bowl games, but for high profile players I understand it from a financial standpoint.
